Here are a list of password best practices everyone should live by:
- Avoid easy-to-guess passwords. Your password should be random and never a simple word that can be found in the dictionary.
- Don’t add personal information to your password. This includes your name, DOB, address, etc.
- Avoid using the same password for multiple accounts.
- Use 2-factor authentication (2FA) where possible.
- Passwords should be 8+ characters, made up of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters (&#$@, etc.).
- NEVER use any variation of the word ‘Password’!
- That's it!! Your password is almost uncrackable now :)
